本輯是 Elvis Costello / 皇帝艾維斯的第二張專輯，同時也是他和 The Attractions 樂團第一次合作的作品；推出當年即贏得村聲雜誌爵士與流行類樂評票選為 1978 年度專輯，在滾石雜誌評選的 1967-1987 年最佳專輯名單中高居第11 名，2003 年於滾石雜誌公佈的史上五百大最佳專輯榜上再次名列前矛。迄今，【This Year's Model / 年度名模】依然被視為龐克新浪潮時期最重要的代表作品之一！

為慶祝專輯發行三十週年，環球音樂特地推出【This Year’s Model】雙 CD 豪華加值版；CD1 不僅保留專輯原始面貌，更特別加收 10 首 B 面單曲、現場演唱、demo、以及專輯歌曲的不同版本；CD2 則完整收錄 '78年 2 月 28 日 Elvis Costello 和 The Attractions 樂團於華盛頓特區 Warner 劇院舉行的演唱會實況錄音，除了獻唱包括 "Pimp It Up"、"Radio, Radio"…等專輯中的經典之外，還詮釋了 "Watching The Detectives"、"(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes"、"Less Than Zero"…等多首 Elvis Costello 鍾愛的歌曲；不朽經典加上首度曝光的珍貴錄音絕對值得典藏。
