才華洋溢、29歲英年早逝的Marc Bolan，一手打造短暫卻燦爛的T. Rex盛事，開啟華麗搖滾的風潮，David Bowie、R.E.M.、The Who、Guns N’ Roses、Billy Idol、Oasis、The Smiths…等巨星/樂團深受其影響，並在歌曲中向他們致敬。1968年以Tyrannosaurus Rex之名出道，站穩英歐市場，1970年團名改為T. Rex再戰搖滾樂壇，跨海攻陷美國市場，直到1977年Marc Bolan殞落，T. Rex也走進了歷史。

1970年首度以T. Rex縮寫發行的同名專輯【T. Rex】，由Marc和Mickey Finn為主導，美籍傳奇製作大師Tony Visconti（*David Bowie、Thin Lizzy、The Moody Blues）除了跨刀製作之外，也下海彈奏鋼琴、貝斯，專輯進佔英國金榜第7名。其中“The Wizard”是Marc先前樂團John’s Children的錄音作品，“One Inch Rock”則是Tyrannosaurus Rex時期歌曲，但特別加重電吉他份量。此雙碟版本不僅將原母帶重新數位化錄製，更特別額外珍藏24首加值曲，包括英國金榜亞軍大紅歌“Ride A White Swan”，以及多達12首初次曝光的Demo版與先前未收進的曲目。
