就在Tim和Neil Finn兩兄弟將Split Enz樂團解體後，Neil另組成Crowded House作為重新出發的舞台。1986年發行首張同名專輯，登上美國TOP12，銷量大破百萬張，在澳洲更一口氣摘下7白金認證，Tim曾短暫加入壯大聲勢。1996年Neil自認缺乏創作靈感，決定解散樂團。2005年鼓手Paul Hester自殺身亡的消息釋出，讓昔日Crowded House夥伴再度聚首，於2007和2010年分別交出新碟，全部取得澳洲冠軍，攻佔英、美流行榜。
